ManyEyes Swivel

Robert Kosara of EagerEyes has an excellent article comparing ManyEyes and Swivel:
... will users play and interact with data the way they do with other media? Two [social] websites were launched recently to find out: Swivel and Many Eyes.
In terms of capabilities, Many Eyes wins hands down. Of course, Swivel's focus is a slightly different one ... And besides, there are no data analysis capabilities other than the charts and the simple correlation calculation on Swivel yet.
The only big thing Many Eyes is missing is a way to combine data from different data sets into one visualization. This is a big one, though, that they will need to address soon.
Kosara is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. His research is in information visualization, specifically interactive visualization of categorical data and understanding the perceptual and representational aspects of visualization.
